induced pluripotent stem cells were considered as a solution for Parkinson’s disease. However, the implanted cells were not found to bring up the surprising results for the patients. The possible reason could be the iPSCs did not survive well after transplantation. Dr. Kim working in McLean hospital announced that he would initiate a clinical trial to test the effect of a new molecule called HL192 which could increase the survival rate of the implanted iPSCs.
